Everyday I have this little ritual where I like to go and check out my stats. I tend to be most interested in the number of recent referrals who have come to my site. It always surprises me when I open up a new referral because you never know what you’re going to see.
Today I was pleasantly surprised and my first thought was WOW, this site was using my Pixabella 04 HTML theme. They had reworked the theme by giving it a new background color and had a custom banner designed. I also liked the idea of using the 125 x 125 advertising block for images.
I really like how my Pixabella 04 theme has been reworked and I am happy to have the Sports Car Club of N.Z using my Pixabella 04 theme.
While I am at it I may as well give them a bit of a plug as they have been kind enough to leave my link in the footer. If you’re based in New Zealand and are a bit of a rev head, appreciate sports cars or even like to restore cars you should go and check out SCCNZ site.
When it comes to themes for blogging it’s very important to get the right one, simply because blogging is such a personal thing and the wrong template robs a blogger of the motivation to write.
I get a lot of people visiting my blog who are looking for <a href=”http://topwpthemes.com”>wordpress themes</a> and since I only produce html themes I thought it would be a nice service to mention another designer whose work I admire, and who does produce WP themes for free download.
Being a girl, and a big fan of shopping I particularly love the shopaholic themes, the cartoon characters in these templates are just perfect for any female blogger.
Not being an expert on Wordpress I think anyone who wants to know how to install a theme should check out their installation guide which seems quite detailed and includes some really informative screebshots.
Pixabella04 s9y
I’m very excited that Yellowled aka Matthias from Serendipity has ported my pixabella04 template to this great blog engine, the same engine that I’m using on this website so I know it works well.
Pixabella04 is a new template that I held back on releasing because I wanted to make it as good as I possibly could so it’s even more gratifying to see how well the s9y version turned out. Matthias told me it was almost as if this template had been specially made ready for porting to the Serendipity blog CMS. That’s a really nice complement.
The Serendipity version includes all three layout styles and also both colorsets, the green and blue, so it should appeal to more users than just a regular three column template.
You can download the pixabella04_s9y template for Serendipity, or if you have Spartacus installed in your s9y blog I believe you will soon be able to install it automatically.
Navbar
I’ve produced a few sets of navbar images for free download dark, light, frosty, and original. In this tutorial I’m going to explain how to use them in your own site design.
This screenshot is taken directly from one of my free html templates. The HTML to create this is a basic list of links but without the CSS it looks quite boring, just a link, then a new line and another link and so on, however, once the CSS is added, you get an attractive navbar.
