Pikelet Clip Art
If you like the look of this pikelet clip art wait until you smell and taste these pikelets. Making surprise pikelets for a flatmate or friend it’s always a good breakfast idea. With the will to make breakfast I mosied down stairs and got a strange look from my flatmate. It was the look of “oh you’re up and oh you’re going to disturb (read between the lines, annoy) me”.
As I am such a nice person,
I made myself a coffee and sat on the couch trying really hard not to annoy him. With the coffee drunk, and my brain and body now in sync I headed for the kitchen to make surprise pikelets.
I recall the last time I made pikelets I had a small problem with the mixture, the pikelets looked like rubber coasters. Hmm the second batch I made was also less than appetizing so we opted for cereal. Oh well, I guess in this instance it was the thought that counted.
Given my track record for yummy pikelets verses rubber coasters I thought I would find another pikelet recipe online. The recipe I found looked perfect, it was easy enough to prepare with minimal ingredients. I did change the recipe slightly by adding a little sugar to sweeten the pikelet mixture.
Having whipped up the ingredients into a smooth mixture I added a dob of butter to the pan. With the frying pan on a low to medium heat I placed my first tablespoon of pikelet mix into the pan and perfecto! This morning we will be eating nice thick pikelets for breakfast. Yippee!
In between cooking the pikelets I was running back and forth organizing the breakfast table and making coffee. I got out all the conserves, lemon and sugar, honey, maple syrup and butter and turn these pikelets into heavenly delights.
With the table set, the coffee poured, and pikelets stacked on a plate we sat down to a leisurely breakfast sipping coffee and enjoying the most amazing pikelets. I had to capture this moment forever so I made my very own pikelet clip art that I can enjoy everyday.
I can’t get over how easy these pikelets are to make, their so easy in fact you can make them in batches and freeze them. Stockpiling them in the freezer isn’t a crazy idea as they make perfect snacks for the kids lunch boxes or an emergency dessert when unexpected guests arrive.
Don’t worry the kids pikelets will thaw out naturally in their lunch box. If you happen to be in a hurry you can always defrost them in the microwave. Warm pikelets served with tea or coffee sounds positively yummy.
You can even whip up a batch of pikelets as a surprise birthday breakfast and make a handmade pikelet clip art card to accompany the meal. To make the card you can download the pikelet clip art above and print the free clip art onto thick craft card.
If you would like a copy of the pikelet recipe I used you can find it at the taste.com website. Personally I don’t think you can go wrong using this pikelet recipe or my pikelet clip art to make great food gifts or surprise meals.
