To start this project it doesn’t matter what color your lampshade is, even if it’s black, because you are going to use the black and white line art graphic as a template.

Once you’ve downloaded the apple template simply print the black and white line art image onto thick white card, cut out the apple, but make sure you make clean cuts so the edges will be smooth to trace around.When the template is prepared place it onto the lampshade and trace around it to create outlines of the black and white clip art apple. Make sure you trace around the template with a HB pencil or lighter.

Depending on the shape of the lampshade you can make your black and white line art border go around the circumference of the shade, for a square shade maybe one apple per side or just let your creativity be the judge.

With the outlines in pencil it’s really easy for both young and old to fill in the blanks with art materials like fabric paint, puffy paint or even embroider the apple in selected colors to compliment your surroundings.

When you have finished painting the lampshade just put it in a safe place so the paint has time to dry. If you’re sewing the line art design, it might take a lot longer to finish the project, but you’ll have a modern looking black and white line art lampshade to enhance the beauty of your home.
