Drink filtered water, it is better for you and your appliances

My filtered water jug and I are going to be best buddies this Summer in Spain. It holds two liters of cold lush water which filters all the impurities right out of it.

Here in Andalucia I have noticed the drinking water is very hard and contains high levels of calcium and lime. Since coming to Spain my poor kettle has had a hard life. After every second boil the kettle fills with lime and calcium chunks and it needs to be washed out. When I look in my kettle it makes me want to gag. This screams out health warning to me!!

Besides wasting water and cleaning it out, it's a real power muncher because the element keeps getting clogged up with scale. This kettle has a mind of its own, it takes to long to boil or the water isn't hot enough or its latest trick is halarious. Your relaxing it's nice a peaceful and bam out of nowhere it turns on makes a horrible noise and begins to boil water. Great if it could make me the coffee too. LOL!

Sad to say :) I have retired my kettle and have bought myself an Espresso machine. It's a hard life trading in a kettle for an Espresso machine, but someone has to do it.

Now I can enjoy Espresso coffee that is filtered which is healthier and make refreshing cold drinks in the Summer.
