Easter Greeting Card

Don’t you love it when Easter is just around the corner as you can make a wonderful Easter greeting card with colored sand. Make sure the kids invite a few friends over to stay the weekend so they can create a unique Easter greeting card to giveaway. The kids will have so much fun they will be wanting to make more than just one!

To make your Happy Easter greeting cards simply download the Easter color sheet and print it onto ordinary US Letter printer paper. Once printed cut along the dotted line with a pair of child safety scissors or have an adult trim the Easter card down to size.

For this Easter greeting card project you can make it look really interesting by using colored sand, craft glue and a brush. You can usually buy colored sand from any craft supply store, if you’re unable to find colored sand you can make your own.

All you need is to buy some white fine washed sand that is white and use food coloring to make an assortment of pretty colors. Always have an adult present as food coloring will stain anything it comes in contact with. Make sure you cover the table with a plastic sheet and wear old clothes and plastic gloves before dying the sand. To dye the sand for your Easter greeting card you’ll need: bowls, white sand, food coloring, spoon and a little water. Place a small amount of sand in the bowl a drop of food coloring and then give it a stir. If the mixture is to dry add a drop of water. Try not to make the sand to wet as you will have to wait longer for it to dry out. To make the sand darker or lighter in color just add less or more food coloring to the sand mix and use the water as you need it.

When you’ve mixed all the colors into separate bowls, put them aside in a safe place and get your friends to help you clean up the mess. The colored sand could take a while to dry so why not watch a movie while you wait.

When the colored sand is dry you can mix some of the craft glue with a little water to make it easier to apply to the Easter card. Next sprinkle the colored sand where you have applied the glue. Pat down the sand a little then remove the excess sand back into the bowl. Continue with this process until your Easter greeting card has been completely filled in.

Keep your Easter greeting card or cards in a safe place until they are dry.  Once dry carefully open the card and write an Easter greeting inside, before surprising that special someone with a beautiful handmade Easter card.
