American Flag free coloring pages is a fun worksheet to color in for the Fourth of July Independence Day or it can be printed off as a worksheet and used as a classroom aid to teach children the history and the meaning behind the American Flag.

Kids what’s really exciting is the American Flag has many names like the United States Flag, Stars and Stripes, Old Glory and The Star-Spangled Banner. What’s really interesting is their is two main parts to the flag the stars and the stripes.

There are fifty stars and thirteen stripes that make up the flag of the United States of America. The fifty stars represent the states of which 48 states are joined together and two remote states of Alaska and Hawaii.

The thirteen horizontal stripes represent the original thirteen colonies that formed the United States of America on the Fourth of July in 1776. On this day the United States declared Independence from the British Crown and is commemorated by a holiday filled with fireworks, parades, concerts for a fun family day out.

American Flag free coloring pages are easy to color and all you need is a red and a blue color pencil, crayons, or coloring pens. The white stars and stripes don’t need to be colored as the American flag will be printed out on white paper.

To color in your American Flag free coloring pages you can begin by coloring the first stripe at the top of the flag in red. When you have finished coloring the first line, just leave the next stripe white and color the next line red. Keep following the same pattern until their are no more lines to color in.

Having colored all the red stripes you now can move onto the blue part of the flag. Start coloring the small rectangle that is around the fifty-five pointed stars. Color carefully around the stars and try not to color them in blue.
