Heart stencils are great because they can be used on holiday gifts, Valentine’s Day or as craft projects for kids. By downloading my printable heart stencils you can use it in three amazing ways to make fun paper craft projects. This heart stencil contains four different shaped hearts to make your project look lovely. All the hearts have a black border which make it real easy for printing, cutting, coloring or painting.
Heart stencils can also be used to make complex or easy paper craft projects like Anniversary cards, Christmas decorations, Birthday Invitations or Valentine’s day gift bags. For this printable to be used a as heart stencils it needs to made to feel rigid. Once printed simply glue the printable stencil onto the back of cardboard and wait for it to dry. Take your scissors and poke a hole through the heart and carefully cut the middle out making sure to follow the outline. (Note: Please ensure the scissors are child safe, if not supervise the kids whilst their cutting or alternatively cut out the hearts for them.)
When the hearts have been cut out, the kids will love moving around their heart stencils around a piece of paper and painting inside the heart shapes. Just think how much fun they’ll have mixing new paint colors and painting the hearts with pretty patterns. If you’re wanting a mess free day your children can still have fun and use the same stencil as a heart template without the paint.
To make the heart template just reprint the worksheet and glue it to cardboard so it becomes a rigid heart template. This time cut around the outside of the love hearts, and watch it magically transform into a paper craft heart template. From here the kids can decorate the hearts with glue and torn paper, perhaps glue and glitter or maybe they would like to stick cotton wool or pasta to them. If they like they can glue them onto another piece of cardboard of keep them separate and give the hearts away to their favorite Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents.
If the kids happen to be wearing good clothes you can still keep them occupied without worrying about their clothes getting dirty or permanently stained. Simply print off my heart stencils worksheet and hand them out as heart coloring pages. The kids will have no end of fun coloring in the hearts and remember to make sure their markers are water based or use color pencils so they don’t mark their clothes.
