Give Peace a Chance

John Lennon said it best when he wrote his masterpiece song "Give Peace a Chance" but sadly people are still suffering the effects of war and dictatorships every day around the world.

I saw this on the news this morning about a 16yr old New York Teenager, Trevor Dougherty, who somehow managed to get nearly 6000 people together and create a giant human peace sign on the lawn of his local park.

The story is now doing the YouTube rounds and is turning viral which is really cool, the more people we can get believing peace is the way forward instead of the barrel of a gun the better. The only thing that concerns me is that many of the people most at risk from war are also the people who don't have Internet access so they may never see it.

Real Estate Investment

Investing in real estate for profit isn't something most people can just decide to do and be instantly successful. The knowledge you need to acquire is detailed, extensive, and a simple mistake can be very costly. This doesn't mean you'll necessarily make a mistake but wouldn't it be great to know that you won't, and that you'll be guided to make the right decisions.

This is why Nouveau Riche University was founded to give investors a practical course that teaches everything there is to know about property investment by offering on campus or distance learning property investment education.

Nouveau Riche University speakers and mentors have all been in the same position as you when they started out, and they were all lucky enough to find knowledgeable people in their network who were able to give them the guidance they needed. Undertaking the NRU course let's you meet some of these inspirational people and find out first hand what it takes to have success.

As a graduate of Nouveau Riche University you not only have all of the books, CDs, and DVDs provided during the course, you also get to network with other graduates and learn from their successes. An example I enjoyed reading was Clifton from Nigeria who arrived in the US at the age of 17 and immediately set out to claim his place as a successful entrepreneur.

Uh oh, there was no power this morning

This morning when I woke up our power wasn't working. I checked the switch box and everything seemed to be OK, so then I went outside to see if the neighbors had power. Nobody was awake or out on their patios, but the pool wasn't working and the village seemed deathly quiet.

I was still able to use my laptop, well until the battery goes flat, and we have gas hot water, so I can still shower, but with no power I can't make a coffee, the Internet doesn't work, and I can't even see in the bathroom because it's at the back of the house and has no window.

How do you cope in situations like these? The power going off means we can't cook or boil water since we don't have any emergency cooking facilities, and the little tea light candles we have don't provide enough light to see by.

It might be time for us to invest in some emergency equipment. At the very least I think we need some kind gas cooking so I can boil enough water for a coffee. But it might also be a great idea to get one of those battery powered lights with the really efficient white LEDs in them.

Trade Show Displays

Professional looking trade show displays are pretty much essential if you want to be successful at expos, shows, or even just at the local shopping mall.

In fact it often amazes me the number of companies that have these amazing products, or the best customer service team and they let themselves down with brochures and posters that look like they were prepared by the office junior. That's why I think tabletop trade show displays from the Godfrey Group are such a wonderful idea.

They carry a full range of display merchandise but for the average small business an attractive display that can sit on top of a table is a great start. They look fantastic and will definitely get the attention of potential customers as they walk by.

Rugs, Rugs, and More Rugs

In our house we have terracotta floor tiles which look fantastic and are easy to clean but they're hard, not just for walking on, but also when you sit on the floor, and that's why we love having soft Rugs in the living room.

When we have guests over, or even if we just want to relax and listen to music or read a book, sitting on a cushion on the floor can be so much more comfortable, so of course those terracotta tiles need to be softened up.

Of course it isn't just tiles that are hard on the body. In our last house we had polished wooden floors and they were every bit as bad until we put down the rugs.

Don't just sit at your computer, do some stretches

One of the beauties of owning a laptop is that you can plonk yourself down and start plugging away where ever you like. I like having this luxury but it more often than not your posture tends to suffer.

I like to sit on the couch with my legs up but it doesn't take long before my bum goes numb and my legs start to hurt. I put it down to our couch, it's a nightmare. To me it looks more like a day bed than a couch. I call it the slab seat because it has no give and before you realise it, you're half way down the seat, wondering how you got there.

Crawling your way back up the couch isn't easy because your body is screaming in pain. There is a knack to sitting on a slab seat, when you start to feel uncomfortable wriggle your toes, do small stretches and take mini power breaks. It gets the blood circulating.

Power breaks help get the blood circulating whilst clearing your mind so you can return to the computer fully charged to plug away.

The next time you find yourself at the computer feeling sore or having writer's block get up and do something else. Go for a walk, play with your pets, visit a friend, who knows? You might come back with a new story to blog about.

Managed PPC Advertising

Promoting your website or online business is something that can't be left to chance, it is just too easy to spend far too much money for very little gain. Tis is one of the reasons so many webmasters like ppc advertising.

Network Solutions, one of the oldest and most trusted Internet corporations is now offering to manage your PPC campaign from beginning to end, they'll research the most used keywords on your website and build your campaign including write your ad copy.

This kind of full service advertising management at such affordable prices is very rare and if you seriously want to be successful online is worth some consideration.

Here's how it works. Sign up for a monthly account, either the PerformanceClicks Guaranteed or Maximised plans, and one of the Network Solutions experts will be available 24/7 to help get your campaign off the ground. Network Solutions also guarantee a minimum number of clicks per month so you can focus your energy on making sure site visitors subscribe to your mailing list, or convert into sales.

If you run a bricks and mortar business as well then make sure you choose to have your business listed in the Local Business Ads. Don't have a webiste? No problem, select the Maximized plan and take advantage of the option of pay per phone call. This is a great way of getting new customer leads to call you so you can convert over the phone.
