Pixabella01 for Etomite CMS

I'm very excited about this, I was checking through my website stats and I noticed a link from a site that I assumed was using one of my templates. Wow, how right I was, it seems 'TheSlayer' has ported my pixabella01 template to Etomite CMS.

To the best of my knowledge this is the first port of one of my free HTML templates to another CMS. Check it out at Slayers site, or read the official announcement in the Etomite forums.

Sparrow Eating French Fries in Berlin, Germany

Berlin Sparrow Eating French Fries
This little Berliner was persistant, he kept beating all the other sparrows to the fries that we threw down. The sparrows in Berlin have learned that people are food providers but they won't get too close.

Photo of Tuk Tuk in Sri Lanka

Red Tuk Tuk in Sri Lanka
This is one of my favourite photos, a red Tuk Tuk taken while vacationing in Sri Lanka. These little machines zip around at 50km's per hour, their horn is heard everywhere, and the smell from a Tuk Tuk exhaust is unbearable. They're a two stroke lawn mower kind of engine and positively reek.

On the other hand, the Tuk Tuk is a much more affordable form of transport than a car, and most Sri Lankans live on the poverty line so I suppose I can't blame them for using Tuk Tuk's, maybe the western world needs to work on a cleaner greener version and donate the blueprints and engineering expertise to Asian countries to help them improve the environmental impact of these machines.

A Digital Frame For Christmas

Before I relaunched Pixabella (this website) I had been writing about photography, my favourite hobby. My flickr account is coming along really well, and the desktop background on my Mac is constantly changing with photos I've taken.

The next project is to get some photos printed out and hung on the wall in my bedroom, maybe a couple in the hallway, and definitely several in the living room on my little side tables. I also want to send some photos to family in time for Christmas.

Andrea Bocelli to Release Greatest Hits Album, Vivere

One of my favourite singers, Andrea Bocelli, will be releasing his first greatest hits album on October 30, The Best of Andrea Bocelli: Vivere.

I'm really looking forward to this album, it has all my favourite tracks on it including the incomparable duet with Sarah Brightman, Time To Say Goodbye, which I think has to one of my favourite songs of all time, and let's not forget Romanza and Sogno, two songs that really showcase Andrea's voice perfectly.

An Introduction To XHTML

My introduction to XHTML (Extensible HyperText Markup Language) is designed for users of my free HTML templates who want to learn about the language used to code all of my templates. XHTML replaces HTML 4.0, and has been called HTML5.0, although almost all experts prefer to use XHTML.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) proposed the XHTML standard back in 2000 with the intention of unifying HTML with the new XML standard. Documents in popular software such OpenOffice are saved in XML format, as are RSS feeds and sitemaps for blogs and websites. Merging these two standards seems logical given the way people are starting to use the Internet.
