One of the problems he faces being short-sighted is that if the contacts aren't in, he can barely see a thing, he can't read anything without being ridiculously close, he can't find his way to the bathroom without holding the wall, he can't watch TV either.
Unfortunately his last pair of glasses broke, so when we saw on the Clark Howard Show website that Zenni Optical supply really cheap frames and lenses (as low as $8) it made us sit up and take notice.
The picture you see is the style of eyeglasses that I really want him to get, I think they look trendy and modern, perfect for a guy in his late 30s. Of course Zenni also have other styles, and if my eyesight ever gets worse then I'd go for rimless frames.
Buying prescription lenses online does worry me just a little, after all if something isn't right you can't just go back to the optician to get it fixed, on the other hand, the prices are so much cheaper that it probably just comes down to taking the risk.
